Special Education - Extended School Year Program (July 10, 2017 - 8/18/2017)

(1) Special Education certified teacher for an 8:1:1 (ungraded) Elementary Special Class

(1) Special Education certified teacher for a 12:1:1 (K-3) Special Class

Special education teacher for Language Communications 8:1:2 Special Class at Byram Hills High School for students ages 14-21.  The focus of the program is on academics, socialization opportunities within the school and surrounding community.  There is an emphasis on employability skills and career preparedness.   Must be NYSED certified. (posted 4.25.17)

Special Education - H. C. Crittenden Middle School

Science Research Teacher – Byram Hills High School

Science Research teacher for established, high profile program. Should have experience facilitating high-achieving students in independent research projects.  Curriculum includes teaching scientific literacy, editing and critiquing scientific writing, interfacing with student mentors, holding individualized student meetings, and preparing students for competitive events. Social Studies – Byram Hills High School

Probationary appointment for the 2017-18 school year.  Candidates should have:

  • Experience teaching high school social studies
  • Strong academic history background (in particular, World History)
  • Understanding of differentiated instruction and authentic assessment
  • Skilled in the use of technology in the classroom

Choir & General Music Teacher - H. C. Crittenden Middle School

Anticipated long-term leave replacement.  The HCC Middle School is proud of its active performing ensembles in choir, band and orchestra.  The music department is an important part of the middle school culture, providing students with many opportunities to perform in formal school concerts, community events and service projects.  This teacher provides Choir instruction to students in grades 6, 7 and 8 and General Music instruction to students in Grade 6.  Seeking candidate with the following strengths:

  • Enjoys working with students, both during and after school (Middle School Musical, student variety show performances, All-County Chorus, NYSSMA Festival)
  • Ability to work with students in large and small ensemble settings
  • Strong piano skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of choral and vocal repertoire
