Smart Schools Investment Plan Hearing

Public Hearing - August 30th 2016

Final Board Approval - September 13th 2016

Smart Schools Bond Act History

In January 2014, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo called for New York State to invest $2 billion in its schools through a Smart Schools Bond Act (SSBA).  Voters approved the Smart School Bond Act in November 2014 and as a result the Byram Hills Central School District will receive $333,850.

Funding Goals

The Byram Hills Central School District Smart Schools Bond Act funding goals align with the District’s 2015-2018 Technology Plan by replacing, out of date and aging, SmartBoards with new Promethean Interactive TV. The new Promethean 70" LED ActivePanel with ActivInspire and Classflow software will allow teachers to more effectively and efficiently share/collect information in the classroom. This will support a more blended classroom environment and 21st Century learning model.
